This painting shows nine small scenes on a flannel background. Each scene has two figures: one standing under a tree, the other hanging upside down from a rope. The colors are simple—mostly pale green, brown, and white—with quick, sketchy lines. The figures seem to repeat the same pose, but the way they’re drawn changes slightly each time. The artist used paint and pen to keep it loose and uneven. Look up Robert Gober to see more of his work.
