This image shows a plant with bright red peppers, green leaves, and a few small yellow flowers. A butterfly with blue and brown wings is perched near the peppers, and there’s a dried pod with seeds hanging open. The whole scene looks carefully drawn, with fine details in the leaves and stems. The artist included a tiny caterpillar on one of the peppers, curled up like a tiny spiral. This kind of close-up detail was often used in scientific drawings to show nature’s hidden parts. Look up Maria Sibylla Merian (artist) to see how she combined art and science in her work.
