This sketch shows a shirtless man with glasses and a mustache. He stands with one hand on his hip, the other holding a small round object. His posture is relaxed but confident, and the lines are loose and quick, like a fast drawing. The artist used a drypoint technique, which means they scratched lines into a metal plate to create the image. This left a rough, textured look in the lines. Next, look up Max Beckmann to see more of his bold, expressive work.
