This sketch shows a busy street scene with simple buildings and people walking. Two large dogs stand on a raised platform, their heads turned toward each other. A child sits nearby, looking up at them, while a woman in traditional clothing walks past on the right. Flags and signs hang above the street, and the whole scene is drawn in quick, loose lines. The artist used a technique that lets ink sit in the grooves of the metal plate, creating dark lines on light paper. This makes the image look hand-drawn and sketchy. Look up technique: etching to see how this kind of printmaking works.
