Geometrical Elevation of the Peace Plaza and Façade of the Opera House is a 1800 ink by Giacomo Quarenghi, a Romanticism work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This drawing shows a long, symmetrical building with three main sections. The center part has tall columns and a flat roof with a small dome behind it. On either side, there are shorter wings with arches and domes. The whole scene is drawn in black ink with light watercolor shading. The title at the top says it’s a design for a plaza and opera house. The clean lines and grand scale suggest it was meant to impress.
