Vessels and fishing boat

About this work

This painting shows three big sailing ships on a choppy sea, their tall masts crisscrossed with ropes and sails. In the foreground, a small fishing boat with two people rows toward the ships, its sail drooping. The sky is pale and hazy, blending into the water, while the ships’ hulls are a mix of warm browns and cool blues. The artist used soft, light strokes to blur the edges of the ships, making them look distant and dreamy. This style was meant to show the power and mystery of the ocean.
