The "Old Swan", Bayswater, by Paul Sandby, R.A. is a 1790 watercolor by Paul Sandby, a British Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting shows a busy outdoor scene with people walking, riding horses, and sitting in carriages. A large tree stands in the center, while a smaller building with a sloped roof sits to the left. The sky is soft and pale, and the trees in the background are green and leafy. Some folks are gathered near a fence, and a few dogs are wandering around. The artist used soft colors and gentle brushstrokes to capture the light and mood of the day. This style fits the early Romanticism movement, which loved nature and everyday life.
