A watercolour drawing titled Le Sphinx by Isidore Justin Séverin Taylor depicts the Great Sphinx of Giza. Created around 1830, the work reflects the broader documentation of Taylor’s travels in the Middle East, later published in his 1839 volume La Syrie, l'Égypte, La Palestine et la Judée. The drawing was engraved by Finden after a version by Dauzats, while its provenance includes ownership by the Duc de Montpensier before passing through later collections.
