Untitled is a photographic by Harold Winter, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This is a black-and-white photo of two sculpted figures standing close together. The person on the left wears a long dress and a headscarf, holding a small basket. The person on the right has a cap, a loose shirt, and one hand in their pocket. Their clothes look rough and textured, almost like woven fabric. The figures stand on a simple base, with a patterned border at the bottom. The photo looks old, with a faded, slightly grainy quality. The way the light and shadow play on their faces gives them a quiet, serious look. Check out Victoria and Albert Museum to see more works like this in person.
A photograph is mounted on a green card as part of a collection donated by William Kineton Parkes in 1938. Parkes, known for his work on sculpture, distributed questionnaires to sculptors in the 1920s, and this image is one of many sent in response to his inquiry. The photograph is held among materials now preserved in the Archive of Art and Design.
