Luminen piha, Annankatu is a work by Magnus von Wright, held at Helsinki City Museum.
This drawing shows bare trees with tangled branches against a snowy, flat ground. A fence runs along the bottom, and a small building peeks through the branches in the distance. The artist used mostly black lines and light shading to show the winter scene. The trees look almost alive, with every twig carefully drawn. It feels like a quiet, cold morning where nothing moves. Magnus von Wright (13 June 1805 – 5 July 1868) was a Finnish painter and educator. In addition to bird illustrations, he was also known for his landscapes. He was one of the four sibling von Wright artists.
