Genova dal Giardino Durazzo al Zerbino (Genoa from the Giardino Durazzo al Zerbino) is a 1857 ink by Leopoldina Zanetti Borzino, a Impressionism work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This black-and-white print shows a quiet view of a city framed by trees and bushes. In the foreground, there’s a pond with a small bridge, and beyond it, a mix of old buildings and domes rise in the distance. The trees lean in, almost like they’re guarding the scene. The title says this is a view of Genoa, Italy, from a garden called Durazzo al Zerbino. The artist used a smooth, sketchy style that makes the scene feel both real and dreamy. Check out how this was made using lithography.
