Archibald Robertson, a Scottish-born American painter, was born on May 8, 1765. He is known for his miniature portrait paintings, including those of prominent figures, as well as his watercolor landscapes and engravings. Robertson co-founded the Columbian Academy of Painting in New York with his brother Alexander.
