Panama Museum of Contemporary Art

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Panama, popularly known as MAC Panamá, is the only museum of contemporary art in Panama. This transformation was carried out by Coqui Calderón and Graciela de Eleta, who later received the Order of Vasco Núñez de Balboa in recognition of their efforts. In more recent years, MAC Panamá became the first museum in Central America to receive the CIMAM Award for Outstanding Museum Practice from the International Committee of Museums and Collections of Modern Art, for its nomadic residency project in Emberá indigenous communities.

The museum's collections comprise around 1,200 works, though some sources cite more than 700 works.
