Norman de Garis Davies (1865-1941) was a British Egyptologist and epigrapher known for his meticulous facsimile copies of the wall paintings and reliefs in the tombs of ancient Egypt. After early work for the Egypt Exploration Fund, he directed the Graphic Section of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Egyptian Expedition, recording decoration in the Theban necropolis and at sites such as Amarna. His many published volumes preserve scenes that have since faded or been damaged, making his tracings an important record for later scholars. He worked alongside his wife, the copyist Nina de Garis Davies.
