Yedikule, or the Castle of the Seven Towers, Istanbul is a 1809 watercolor by Anonymous Greek artist, a Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
The artwork depicts the Yedikule, or Castle of the Seven Towers, in Istanbul, rendered in dense water and bodycolour with a blend of Ottoman artistic techniques and European perspective. The composition includes a fortress structure accompanied by trees and figures in the foreground. Originally part of a larger series commissioned by Stratford Canning during his diplomatic mission to Istanbul, the drawings were later acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1895 from his daughter, Charlotte Canning.
