L'Album de 1832: Reveil is a 1832 by Auguste Raffet, a Romanticism work, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This chaotic scene shows a group of people in the middle of a battle. One man in a fancy hat stands tall, holding a drum, while others lie wounded or dead on the ground. The background is filled with smoke and figures, some raising weapons or flags. Notice the mix of fear and urgency—some faces look shocked, others determined. The title *Le Réveil* hints at a wake-up call, maybe for a cause. Want to see more like this? Check out Romanticism for dramatic art like this.
