About this work

This drawing shows two naked figures standing side by side. One holds a bow and arrow, the other has a quiver on their back. Their bodies are drawn with careful lines, and the background is filled with tiny cross-hatching marks. Notice how the artist used layers of lines to create shadows and texture—even the fabric and hair look three-dimensional. Next, check out how cross-hatching works in other Renaissance prints.
