A black-and-white print on card depicts a night-time view of the open stage door of London’s Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, framed by the theatre’s sturdy Ionic pillars as seen from Russell Street in Covent Garden. The image is titled *The Stage Door* and may suggest rain-washed streets in its depiction. The print was produced by Peter Bax, who worked at the theatre as a stage manager and designer before joining the BBC in 1934.
