This photo shows Eleanora Duse, a famous actress from the 1800s. Bettini took it using glass negatives, a new trick back then. The print sits on stiff card with his name printed below. Cabinet cards like this one were bigger than visiting cards and became popular in the 1870s. People collected them the way we collect postcards now.
