Guy Little Theatrical Photograph is a 1850 photographic by Numa Blanc, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This is a portrait photo from the 1800s. It shows Mr. Delaunay, an actor or performer of the day, caught in a studio shot. Back then, photos like this were new and exciting. Photographs were printed on stiff card with the photographer’s name. They were called cartes de visite at first, then later cabinet cards. These photos were popular keepsakes. Look up Blanc, Numa next.
This photograph by Numa Blanc depicts Mr. Delaunay and is an albumen print from a glass negative, mounted on card as a carte de visite. Produced during the 1860s vogue for collectible portrait cards, it was later removed from its backing and preserved in an album assembled by collector Guy Little. The image belongs to a larger group of 19th-century theatrical photographs donated to the V&A in the early 20th century.
