Tour du gros-horloge, Evreux is a 1824 ink by Richard Parkes Bonington, a Romanticism work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This drawing shows a tall clock tower rising over a busy street. People in old-fashioned clothes gather below, some standing, some sitting on the ground. Shops line the left side, and a ship is visible on the right, near the water. The clock tower has a flag flying at the top and a clock face near the middle. The artist used shading to make the buildings look solid and the sky soft. Next, check out lithography to see how this print was made.
Richard Parkes Bonington (25 October 1802 – 23 September 1828) was an English Romantic landscape painter.
