This sketch shows two robed figures standing in a garden. One holds a round object, maybe a fruit or a ball, while the other gestures toward a building in the background. The trees have jagged, almost scribbled branches, and the figures’ faces are blurred, giving a dreamy, unfinished look. The colors are soft—lots of muted purples, blues, and browns—with some bright spots like the gold on one figure’s robe. The background building looks like a church or a temple, but it’s faint and hard to make out. If you like this style, check out The Cleveland Museum of Art for more works like it.
