James Drummond, Earl of Perth is a 1654 ink by William Faithorne, a Baroque work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This is an engraving of a man with long, curly hair. He is wearing a dark jacket with a white ruffled collar and a dark cloak over his left shoulder. The man is shown from the waist up, facing slightly to the right. The background is dark, which makes his face and clothing stand out. There are some words written below the picture, but they are not clear. The engraving is very detailed, with lots of lines and patterns. It looks like it was made with a special technique called cross-hatching. If you want to learn more about this style of art, you could look up the Baroque movement.
William Faithorne (1616–1691) was a British artist, born in Greater London.
