Madonna and Child with Saint Catherine of Siena and Saint Cecilia is a 1650 oil by Francesco Vanni, held at National Galleries Scotland.
This painting depicts the Virgin Mary holding a baby Jesus, surrounded by two female saints. The saint on the left is dressed in a red and gold robe, while the saint on the right wears a white and black robe. They are all situated in a grand, stone building with large windows and columns. The scene is set against a backdrop of a serene landscape with trees and a body of water. The painting features a striking use of color, with vibrant reds and blues standing out against the more subdued tones of the stone architecture. The figures are arranged in a harmonious composition, with the Virgin Mary at the center. The painting is a beautiful example of 17th-century art, and it is held at the Scottish National Gallery.
Francesco Vanni (1563 – 26 October 1610) was an Italian painter, draughtsman, printmaker, publisher and printer active in Rome and his native city of Siena.
