A dog, and two boatwomen by their beached craft is an 8 by George Chinnery, a Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
A drawing from a volume of 179 sheets includes a long-nosed dog lying with its right foreleg extended, alongside two inverted sketches of boatwomen beside a beached Tanka boat. The album, bequeathed in 1928 by James Orange, originally contained 93 drawings by George Chinnery. Chinnery, born in London in 1774, worked primarily in India and China, establishing himself as a prominent portrait artist in Calcutta before settling in Macau in 1825.
