Drawings of a cow and a standing figure is a 19 by George Chinnery, a Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
George Chinnery’s drawing shows two sketches on one sheet: one of a cow, one of a figure in a cape. He used Romanticism’s loose, expressive lines to capture quick moments. The figure stands at a right angle to the cow, both turned sideways. This sheet shows two drawings on one page. The figure’s cape adds movement to a simple pose. The cow looks calm beside the standing figure. Check out George Chinnery’s other works next.
The sheet contains two sketches by George Chinnery: one shows a cow, the other, rotated ninety degrees, depicts a standing figure draped in a cape. It is part of an album of 179 drawings made in Bengal and Macau. The album was bequeathed in 1928 by James Orange and includes 93 works by Chinnery.
