This painting shows a close-up pink morning glory wrapped around a dark stem. The flower fills the whole canvas, its soft petals glowing against the shadowy background. O'Keeffe zooms in so much you almost feel the morning dew. She painted flowers this way often, making nature look almost abstract. Some people thought her flowers were about femininity or love, but she always said no—that wasn’t her point. The real focus was shape, color, and light.
