Title Cartouche for a Map of the Chateau and Village of Le Plessis aux Bois is a 1736 graphite by Hubert François Gravelot, a Baroque work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This drawing shows a fancy frame with words in the middle. The words say *"Plan du Château et Village du Plessis aux Bois"* in a circle. Around it are curly lines, leaves, and small figures holding up the frame. The frame looks like it was made to hold a map. The lines are drawn carefully, almost like a sketch for a bigger picture. Hubert-François Bourguignon, commonly known as Gravelot (26 March 1699 – 20 April 1773), was a French engraver, a famous book illustrator, designer and drawing-master.
