This drawing shows a strange, fancy pitcher shaped like a creature. Its body is a decorated pot with swirling patterns, and its "head" is a curly-haired ram with a long neck. Two small human-like figures are climbing out of the pot’s opening, like they’re emerging from the vessel. The whole thing sits on a tiny stand, and the lines are drawn with careful shading. The artist used ink and light washes to give it a soft, sketchy look. The mix of animals and humans was common in Renaissance art to show creativity and imagination. Next, look up cross-hatching to see how artists build shadows with lines.
