This print shows a cow lying on its side, its head turned slightly to the left. The animal’s body is thick and rounded, with strong, simple lines. One leg is bent, and the other stretches out straight, while the tail curls up near its back. The artist used sharp black lines against a light background, giving the cow a bold, almost flat look. The woodcut technique makes the shapes look carved, not painted. Look up woodcut to see how this print was made.
