This painting shows a person sitting on a bright yellow-orange floor, legs spread wide and arms resting on their knees. The figure’s skin is painted in thick, rough red-orange strokes, with a pale, almost glowing ball between their legs. The background is a deep black, making the colors pop. The brushstrokes are so heavy they look almost sculpted, like the paint was slapped on. This technique is called impasto. Check out more of this artist’s work by looking up Klinis, Yannis.
