This black-and-white print shows an old man lying down with his arm bent, as if drained. Two younger men stand nearby—one holding a scroll, the other looking down at him. The room looks simple, with a table holding a few objects like a cup and a book. Outside the window, a stormy sky looms, with dark clouds and wind. The old man’s pose and the scroll suggest he’s about to die, possibly by his own hand. The artist used fine lines to show texture, like wrinkles and fabric folds. Next, look up etching to see how this technique works.
