About this work

This print shows a boy in a wide-brimmed hat herding a flock of sheep. He’s holding a long stick, and the sheep are clustered around him on a grassy hillside. In the background, a few more sheep graze near a rocky outcrop, and the whole scene is framed by a border. The artist used a blue-tinted paper and etched fine lines to show the textures of the wool and the boy’s clothes. The light is soft, making the scene feel peaceful.
