Untitled is a 1537 by François Gérard, a Renaissance work, depicting Putti, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This print shows three plump, winged babies—putti—lolling around a rocky landscape. One baby leans against a lion, another holds a bird, and the third stretches out lazily. In the background, a tree and some distant hills give the scene a dreamy, quiet feel. The artist used fine lines to show the soft folds of the babies’ skin and the fur of the lion. The print looks worn but still holds sharp details, like the feathers on the bird’s wings. Next, look up putti to see how these chubby angels show up in other artworks.
A print on paper from 1537 by Monogrammist F. G. depicts two genii and a lioness with her cubs, based on a design by Raphael, and includes the inscription "RA • VB • IN," the monogram "FG," and the date "1537" on a tablet attached to a tree branch on the left.
