Decorative Panels, Double-leaf Doors, Overdoor Paintings is a 1794 unspecified by Pierre Rousseau, a Rococo painting work, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This painting shows a fancy, tall scene with three angels. At the top, one angel holds a banner that says "FIDES" (that’s Latin for faith). Below, two angels lift a baby on a cloud. Around them are flowers, vases, and small statues of people. The whole thing sits on a green base with carved designs, and two winged lions hold up the bottom corners. The angels look calm and graceful, like they’re part of a grand, decorative show. The colors are soft but bright—lots of gold, blue, and pale green. The whole thing feels like it belongs in a big, important room. If you like this kind of detailed, dreamy art, check out Romanticism next.
