About this work

This drawing shows two tall, narrow columns packed with swirling patterns. The lines are all brown ink, tight and precise, like vines and leaves twisting up the page. At the bottom, a small bird peeks out from the corner—almost like a signature. These designs look like they’re copied from ancient ruins, mixed with fancy Renaissance ideas. The artist used simple ink but filled every inch with detail, almost like a puzzle. Want to see more? Check out cross-hatching for how artists build shadows with lines.
