This painting shows a narrow street at dusk. A woman in a bright yellow dress walks toward a dimly lit doorway, while a man in a white shirt and blue pants plays a guitar nearby. Above them, a yellow umbrella covers a small table with a pitcher and cups. Other figures move in the shadows—some standing, some peeking from windows—all bathed in soft, uneven light. The brushstrokes are thick and rough, giving the scene a textured, almost sketchy feel. The light and dark areas create a strong contrast, making some spots glow while others fade into near-black. This style is called chiaroscuro.
