Fecioara cu Pruncul (Împărătiță) is a 1806 by Savu Poienaru, a Romanticism work, held at National Museum of Transylvanian History.
This looks like a faded drawing on wood. The image is blurry, but you can make out a tall, thin figure holding something small in its arms. The wood panel shows signs of age and wear, with cracks and patches where the paint has worn off. The figure seems to be a woman with a child, but the details are hard to see. The label says it’s from 1806, which might explain why it looks so worn. If you’re curious about this kind of old drawing, check out cross-hatching.
A Transylvanian draftsman active in the early 1800s, Savu Poienaru filled sheets with chalk and ink studies of sacred figures.
