This drawing shows the Annunciation: an angel with folded wings tells Mary she’s pregnant. The lines are sharp and dark, almost like carving. Mary’s face is calm, almost surprised. Papaloukas was known for mixing old religious art with bold modern lines. He trained in Munich, so you see classical training in the folds of the angel’s robe. Look next at Spyros Papaloukas.
