Holly Trinity. Artistic reconstruction of a stained glass panel from the Dominican church in Kraków

Rendered entirely in ink, the piece relies on bold outlines and intricate hatching to suggest the texture of glass and the play of light. The stylized forms reveal the artist’s modernist leanings, yet the decorative patterns recall Romantic and folk aesthetics characteristic of the Young Poland movement.

Created during Wyspiański’s active period designing church interiors, the drawing was later acquired by the National Museum in Kraków, where it remains in the permanent collection. Its preservation offers insight into the artist’s preparatory process for large‑scale stained‑glass commissions.

Wyspiański, a central figure of the Young Poland cultural renaissance, pursued interdisciplinary projects that combined visual art, literature, and design.
