This 1837 print shows the Mosque of Cordoba packed with tall arches and golden light. Arches curve and split into smaller arches like lace. A small altar with a crucifix sits in the center. The Mosque used to be Muslim, then became Catholic. Boys drew it right after Spain shifted from Moorish rule to Christian kings. You can still see both styles today. Look up Thomas Shotter Boys (British, 1803–1874).
