Χωρίς τίτλο is a 2006 by Alexandros Tzannis, held at Metropolitan Organisation of Museums of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki – MOMus.
This drawing shows a tangle of city lines and tree branches mixed together. The lines look rough but controlled, like the artist drew fast but didn’t smudge. You can almost feel the Athens heat in the marks. The work mixes real streets with something dreamy, so the city feels alive and ghostly at once. Compare this to how Tzannis, Alexandros (1979) layers symbols in his sculpture.
Alexandros Tzannis is a Greek painter. His work has been shown at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, Germany, the New Benaki Museum, Athens and the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki, Greece.
