歌川広重画 菊に鷦鷯 |A Wren and Chrysanthemums is a 1830 ink by Utagawa Hiroshige, a Romanticism work, depicting Bird, held at Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This print shows a small bird perched on a branch with bright red berries. Below it, a large chrysanthemum blooms in white and yellow petals, surrounded by green leaves. The background is mostly plain, with a touch of blue at the bottom. The artist wrote Japanese poetry along the left side, adding a quiet layer of meaning. The colors pop against the simple background, making the bird and flowers stand out. Look up Utagawa Hiroshige to see more prints like this one.
