Takanawa no Meigetsu|東都名所 高輪之明月|Full Moon at Takanawa is a 1831 ink by Utagawa Hiroshige, a Romanticism work, depicting Bird, held at Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This print shows a night scene by water, with a bright full moon in the sky. A flock of birds flies in mid-air, some heading toward the moon. Below, boats float on calm water, and a curved bridge leads to a small building. The sky has soft pink clouds near the horizon, and the edges of the paper have a decorative border. The artist used simple shapes and bold colors to create movement, especially in the birds’ wings. The moon’s light makes the scene feel peaceful.
