The painting depicts a serene landscape with a body of water in the foreground, featuring several figures on horseback and on foot. In the distance, a town is nestled at the foot of a mountain, with a few buildings and structures visible. The sky above is a soft, muted color. A watercolour drawing by the Reverend Cooper Willyams depicts an eastern view of Caiffa, a Turkish town situated at the base of Mount Carmel. The work was later reproduced with minor changes as an etching and aquatint in two published volumes, one in 1802 and another in 1822. According to records, this drawing and a companion piece were sold at Sotheby’s in 1972 for £35.
