Overview

This sepia photograph depicts Ellen Terry in the role of Hermione in a 1906 production of *The Winter’s Tale* at His Majesty’s Theatre. The image is part of the Guy Little Collection, which consists of albumen prints on card mounts, including both *cartes de visite* and *cabinet cards*, photographic formats popular in the 19th century. The collection was assembled by Guy Tristram Little and later donated to the Victoria and Albert Museum. The photograph was presented to the museum in the early 20th century as part of this collection.
