About
The Glasgow Boys were an informal group of Scottish painters who formed in the late 1870s and 1880s, rejecting the sentimental Victorian style in favor of naturalism and plein air painting. Centered in Glasgow, with formative working sojourns at the village of Grez-sur-Loing, they are celebrated for their innovative use of light and color, influencing the development of modern British art.
