Ogata Kōrin was a Japanese artist of the Rinpa School, known for his landscape illustrations, lacquerwork, and textile designs, particularly his byōbu folding screens and paintings on ceramics and lacquerware. He worked with various objects, including fans and writing boxes, and revived the Rinpa school of Japanese painting.
Ogata Kōrin's work had a lasting influence on subsequent Japanese artists, including Sakai Hōitsu.
