Abashiri City Museum of Art

The Abashiri City Museum of Art is a registered museum located in the city of Abashiri, Hokkaido, Japan. It opened in 1972 and holds the distinction of being the second art museum established on the island of Hokkaido, and the very first to be purpose-built for that function. The institution focuses its collecting and exhibition activities on artists associated with the Okhotsk region, while also hosting temporary exhibitions.

Operating hours are from 10:00 to 16:00, and the museum is closed on Mondays and holidays, with additional closures during the New Year holidays from December 29 to January 3, as well as irregular holidays throughout the year. General admission for adults is 120 yen, while elementary and junior high school students are charged 60 yen. Elementary and junior high school students residing in Abashiri City receive free admission on Saturdays. Separate fees may apply for special exhibitions. Visitor facilities include a shop, parking, a cafe, a library, and disabled access.
