Kedah State Art Gallery

The Kedah State Art Gallery, known in Malay as Balai Seni Negeri Kedah, is an art museum located in Alor Setar, the capital of Kedah state in northern Malaysia. This made it the earliest modern government building in Alor Setar. By 1931, the high court had relocated to a new building beside the Federal Building, and the original structure was repurposed to house the Audit Department, State Treasury, and British Advisory Office. The decisive transformation came in 1983, when the building was converted into an art gallery to mark the silver jubilee of Sultan Abdul Halim.
